Agreement on Nuclear Power Plant Orders in the US
On April 3rd, 2008, Toshiba Corporation issued a statement on media reports concerning possible orders for nuclear power plants in the United States. We would like to inform you that Westinghouse Electric Company, a Toshiba's Group company together with its partner The Shaw Group Inc.'s (NYSE: SGR) Power Group have signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company of the United States to provide two Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear power plants at the Alvin W. Vogtle site near Waynesboro, Ga.
