Comment on Media Reports on Capital Expenditure in the Semiconductor Business
This is to give notice that reports in today’s media on possible capital expenditure by Toshiba on a new semiconductor facility for NAND flash memories, Fab 5, are not based on any announcement by the company.
While we have previously announced that we expect to make a decision on the construction of Fab 5 NAND flash memory manufacturing facility this year, nothing specific has been decided yet in respect of capital expenditure or timing.
Toshiba will continue to monitor market transitions and demand closely, and to decide on facility investment as appropriate.
