Major features of Vision Connect
(1) DVD-ROM drive A DVD-ROM drive and DVD decoder (hardware) are equipped as standard, so users can readily enjoy a variety of DVD software including movies and music. For audio, the PC is capable for Dolby Digital (AC-3) dynamic 5.1ch digital surround sound. (An amplifier with Dolby Digital (AC-3) capability, and speakers etc. are required.) The DVD-ROM drive also works as an 8X CD-ROM drive for playback of CD-ROM titles and music CDs. (2) 33.6 kbps high-speed modem / high-performance communications functions A modem with voice function (data: 33.6kbps for V.34, fax: 14.4kbps for V.17) is incorporated for Internet access, personal computer communications and fax transmission and reception. By using a microphone, which is a standard accessory, and the speakers of a TV or audio system, hands-free conversation with the other party and an answer-phone function are possible. For Internet browsing, the latest Internet Explorer Ver3.02 with ActivX capability is pre-installed, making it possible to fully view home pages which include moving pictures. (3) High-performance 3D graphics chip Adoption of ATI Rage LT, a high-performance 3D graphics chip, assures high-speed reproduction of moving pictures. For video memory, 2MB SGRAM is equipped to maximize the performance of the graphics chip. As a result, images are displayed in 16.77 million colors with 800 600 dots on a TV, and in 256 colors with 1,280 1,024 dots on a PC monitor. Because a driver with Direct 3D capability is pre-installed, users can enjoy three-dimensional moving pictures, for example, when playing 3D games. (4) Easy connection to a TV and other AV equipment S-video and composite output terminals are equipped for easy connection to input terminals of AV equipment such as a TV, LCD projector or audio system, so users can easily compose an AV system such as a home theater system. Toshiba's unique flicker control technology--which greatly reduces image flicker on the screen--is adopted to ensure easy-on-the-eye display of text on a TV. There is also an RGB terminal, allowing output to be displayed on a computer monitor. |
