Features of new Products
SD-C2002
- Adoption of a thin optical pick up head and thin disc motor, as well as thin package LSI and high-density surface-mounting technology, result in a drive only 17 mm high, 128mm wide and 133.1mm deep.
- Newly developed LSIs accelerate digital signal processing. Data from DVD-ROM discs are transferred at a rate of 2,700KB/sec (max. 2 x speed), and from CD-ROM disks at 2,400KB/sec (Max. 16 times).
- The Constant Angular Velocity (CAV) rotation method allows a low average power consumption of 3.0W. Random seek time is 110 milliseconds (ms), and random access time of 180 ms, assuring smooth read of DVD-ROM discs.
- Two laser diodes produce beams with different wavelengths, 650nm and 780nm, allowing read compatibility with DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, CD-Audio, CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW.
SD-W1001, SD-W1002
- Full compliance with the specifications of DVD-RAM format Version 1.0
- The wobble land groove recording method is adopted, realizing a rewritable optical disc with a storage capacity of 2.6GB on a single-sided disc and 5.2GB on a double-sided disc.
- Two laser diodes produce beams with different wavelengths, 650nm and 780nm, and work with two proprietary lenses to secure read compatibility with DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, DVD-R, CD-Audio, CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW, as well as reading and writing on DVD-RAM discs.
- Low power consumption (6W in average) allows a dust-free structure without a cooling mechanism, and assures high reliability.
- Adoption of a linear motor which accelerates movement of optical pick ups and a variable speed playback system produce optimized, high-speed access times for various types of discs: 150ms for reading DVD-RAM, 250ms for writing; 150ms and 100 ms for reading DVD-ROM and CD-ROM, respectively.
