TOKYO-Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) today announced that it will collaborate with TDK Corporation (TOKYO: 6762) in creating a huge Christmas scene on their LED displays on One Times Square building in New York's Times Square.

The collaboration will feature a digital image of a 40-meter high festive Christmas tree almost 120 meters above the streets below. This traditional and much loved image will decorate the winter sky and set the mood for the Christmas and New Year season from December 5, 2011 to January 15, 2012.

Long known as "The Crossroads of the World," Times Square is famous for the neon and electric signs that adorn its buildings. Toshiba's two LED signboards in a prime location on One Times Square have been used to promote the Toshiba brand and products since 2007. The displays often feature seasonal themes, including the world famous New Year's Eve countdown, with Christmas as an annual highlight. This year, the combined three displays, Toshiba's above TDK's, will bring additional excitement to the Christmas season and also allow the companies to promote recognition of their brands.
