Toshiba to Unveil Leading Edge Technologies at CES 2012

LAS VEGAS, January 5, 2011 and TOKYO, January 6, 2011—Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) will invite visitors to the Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2012, to experience the future of the smart home and digital products. The company will introduce energy management solutions and the key technologies of the smart home plus its latest advances in digital technologies that make it easier than ever before to create information and entertainment networks by connecting TVs, tablets and PCs. Toshiba booth is at LVCC Central Hall, Booth #11026.

Major Exhibits of New Technologies

1. Smart home

The homes of tomorrow will be networked and integrated into smart grids and the smart community, and support lifestyles that are much more comfortable, more energy efficient and environmentally sensitive. Toshiba will showcase this future with its home energy management system (HEMS). Built around the home gateway server - the life design box - HEMS integrates and manages a smart meter, electric vehicles, a solar power generation systems and digital consumer products.

2. Tablets & PCs

Toshiba's wide line-up of 2012 tablet and PC for the United States will be introduced, including the world's thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch wide screen tablet and a 13.3-inch wide screen Ultrabook. Other displays include technology samples of a tablet with an OLED panel and a waterproof tablet with a wireless charging system.

3. New TVs

Toshiba will feature its wide line-up of 2012 TV for the United States, including a new TV with a media guide that provides simple and intuitive access to a variety of rich media content and services. The TV can also interface with tablet-based Apps[1] to support a variety of features. Also showcased will be a 55-inch, glasses-free 3D TV with a Quad Full HD panel, that delivers crisp, high quality 2D images and 3D content without any need for dedicated glasses.
