Toshiba is a 2017 Top 100 Global Innovator for the Seventh Consecutive Year

Company today awarded trophy at its Tokyo headquarters

TOKYO--Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) was today presented with a trophy recognizing its achievement as a Top 100 Global Innovator in 2017, at its headquarters in Tokyo. The award was presented by Clarivate Analytics, the U.S.-based global information services company, formerly the Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters, and was received on behalf of Toshiba by Corporate Senior Vice President Shiro Saito.

Toshiba is one of a select group companies that has received this prestigious award every year for seven years, since it was initiated in 2011.

Clarivate Analytics compiles its list of Top 100 Global Innovators by analyzing patent and citation data against four main criteria: volume, success, globalization, and influence using Clarivate Analytics solutions. The top 100 companies and institutions around the world are recognized for their influential R&D activities and their effective IP management.

Toshiba Group’s basic policy on intellectual property rights, stipulated in the Toshiba Group Standards of Conduct, is grounded in robust respect for legal requirements. Toshiba Group protects its innovations, and makes full and effective use of its IP rights, while respecting the legitimate intellectual property rights of third parties.
