Toshiba Publishes English Edition of CSR Report 2019

TOKYO--Toshiba Corporation (Tokyo: 6502) today announced that the English edition of the Toshiba Group Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2019 (hereinafter “CSR Report 2019”) is now available.

Published annually since 2004, the report is a comprehensive account of Toshiba Group’s recent activities in the areas of social responsibility, governance and the environment. It provides interested parties with an authoritative resource on Toshiba Group’s CSR policies, plans, programs and activities.

The 2019 report explains various efforts by Toshiba Group to deal with important material issues, including human rights, supply chain CSR and environmental management, and gives a full account of Toshiba Group’s latest ESG activities, including talent development, promotion of diversity, quality control and risk management. The scope of the report meets recommendations for communications defined by ISO 26000 and the GRI Standard*1.

Four sections highlight major activities in the last year.

  • Human Rights covers a seminar on rights awareness held in FY2018, and also includes Group company statements of compliance with the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Supply Chain CSR looks at measures to promote better understanding of Toshiba Group procurement policy by our partners; it spotlights working with procurement partners in the Philippines on capacity building (strengthening organizational capabilities) and status monitoring.
  • Environmental Management introduces an outline of "Environmental Report 2019," and Toshiba Group’s environmental policies and measures.
  • FY2018 measures to enrich information provision in areas including SDG initiatives and employees, including rate of leave taken and hiring status.
