Applying for Grants
How to Apply
- Application deadline for fiscal 2010 grant: November 30, 2009

Applicants are requested to provide the following information and send it to the foundation's office.- The name of the applying organization, its representative, activities, and contact
- The project for which grant is requested
- Outline of the proposed project
- Time of implementation
- Implementation schedule
- Expected results
- Breakdown of total project costs
- Amount of grant requested
- Method of self-evaluation of project results
Eligibility
- Applicant
- The applicant must be a non-profit organization or group that is capable of performing the proposed project.
- The applicant must have a bank account in the name of the organization, or opening such an account must be possible by the start of the project in order to receive the grant.
- Project
- The project must promote international understanding of Japan and conform with TIFO's grant program. Please note that the priority goes to projects undertaken outside Japan.
- It must be implemented within a single fiscal year (April 1 of one year to March 31 of the following year).
*The following will not be approved.
- Projects and research conducted by individuals
- Multiple-year funding
- Expenses for staying in Japan over an extended period
- Internships and scholarships applied for by individuals
Review Process
February : Evaluation and selection of projects by the Advisory Committee*
March : Approval of selected projects by the Board of Directors Announcement of the selected projects

Toshiba International Foundation has a selection committee of learned and experienced advisors who assure that the Foundation carries out its activities fairly and effectively. The committee advises the Foundation as to the scope and direction of its activities, and selects proposals appropriate for the Foundation's objectives from those received, and makes recommendation to the board of Directors.
