From December 15 to 17, Toshiba Group exhibited at Eco-Products 2011 exhibition in Tokyo. The Eco-Products exhibition is one of the largest environmental exhibitions in Japan, launched in 1999. Since a decline in the power supply and other consequences of the Great East Japan Earthquake have had a large impact on the Japanese economy and people's lives, the social significance of "Eco Products" has been reaffirmed, and more than 180,000 business people and consumers in total visited this year.
In the Toshiba Group booth divided into four zones, "Reducing Energy Usage," "Storing Energy," "Generating Energy," and "Connecting Devices & Controlling Energy Usage," the power-saving products including LED lightings, PCs, TVs, and other home appliances, the products using SCiB™ rechargeable battery including an electric vehicle, renewable energy generation technologies, and technologies to control energy usage efficiently including HEMS, BEMS, and CEMS were displayed, demonstrating how Toshiba Group is contributing to realization of Smart Community. In addition, the product recycling demonstration was held, and the Louvre×Toshiba LED Project was introduced at the booth as well.
The 8th Eco-Products Awards Ceremony was held on the opening day at the venue, and the Toshiba Solutions Group's "cloud computing services to make power consumption visible*" received the special award.
