The 22nd Toshiba Group Environmental Exhibition

On February 7 and 8, the 22nd Toshiba Group Environmental Exhibition was held at Toshiba headquarters in Tokyo. The exhibition was organized around Toshiba's four "Green" concepts. In the four zones corresponding to Greening of Products, Greening by Technology, Greening of Process, and Green Management, Toshiba Group's environmental technologies and activities supporting people's lives and businesses were showcased.

In the "Introduction" section at the entrance, the outline of Toshiba Group's environmental management, and many experiments and commercial projects for smart communities in various countries around the world were introduced.

Greening of Products

Various environmentally conscious products (ECPs) were showcased, including CT System, which received Chairperson's Award, Eco-Products Awards Steering Committee, tiered storage system, and paper reuse system "Loops."

Greening by Technology

The power systems business including solar thermal test project, micro hydro power system, and high efficiency combined cycle were exhibited, explaining Toshiba Group's low-carbon energy technologies to mitigate climate change.

Greening of Process

Energy conservation initiatives were exhibited, including reducing CO2 through introduction of water circulation type heat pump for industries, changing boiler fuel form diesel oil to city gas in a manufacturing site of China, and installing LED lights in production sites.

Greening Management

As examples of Toshiba Group's collaboration with stakeholders, biodiversity conservation initiatives all over the world including China, the Philippines, and Thailand were featured. Also, our development of environmental leaders at each business and production site (Toshiba eco-style leaders) was introduced.

Special Events

In conjunction with the exhibition, there were lectures on environmental themes and environmental seminars featuring the speakers invited from inside & outside Toshiba Group.
On February 7, Mr. Kenji Yamaji, Director-General, Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE), gave a lecture on Green Innovation, and on February 8, Ms. Hideyo Bando, an environmental training coordinator of Shizuoka Prefecture spoke about her biodiversity initiatives.
Environmental seminars by speakers from Toshiba Group addressed such themes as Toshiba Group's smart community and thermal solutions with industrial heat pumps.
