"With 10 Years of Life,"
Toshiba's billboard advertisement for LED light bulbs, titled, "With 10 Years of Life," was awarded the Gold Lion in the Outdoor Lions Division of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Toshiba’s award-winning advertisement was designed around the theme of the company’s LED light bulbs, with their long, ten-year lifespan, continuously illuminating the routines of everyday life. Ten years of a man’s life, 3,653 days, from the day he installs an LED bulb in his dining area until the day he replaces it, are portrayed with a series of ever-changing domestic scenes (the man’s bachelor days, his life as a newlywed, the birth of his child) forming a ten-year calendar. None of the scenes are the same, allowing viewers to follow the succession of 3,653 changes with their eyes.
