Installation of the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV)
Factory fabrication of the RPV began in November 1991 and was completed 33 months later, in August 1994. On August 18, the RPV was unloaded at the port built for the power plant and transported to the reactor building on a special vehicle.
At 11 o'clock on August 23 its 892 tons was lifted by a specially designed crane, and over the next five hours it was transferred to stand on the foundation pedestal.
