Some early nuclear power plants are in operation for more than twenty years. The stable and safe operation for those aged plants are becoming very important and for that purpose, it is necessary to apply the preventive maintenance technology to Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) and Internals of early plants, which were made of high carbon stainless steel susceptible to Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC).
Toshiba has been applying its leading-edge technology to the preventive maintenance of those early plants.
