- After I use a U2P type USB Flash Memory TransMemory™ under Windows 7, I cannot open the memory when I connect it to Windows XP or Windows Vista. Is there something wrong with the memory?
- This is possibly caused by setting a Windows 7 password (IEEE1667 password lock function), which makes it impossible to use the memory under any other operating system. You can make the memory usable by an operating system other than Windows 7 by canceling the password with Windows 7.
Perform the steps below to cancel the Windows 7 password.
- * Setting a password with the Windows 7 password function (IEEE1667 password lock function) will make the memory unusable with any operating system other than Window 7.
-
- 1. Connect the USB memory to a PC running Windows 7.
- ↓
- 2. Open "Computer".
- ↓
- 3. Right-click the icon (removable disk) that corresponds to the connected USB memory, and then select "Set Password".
- ↓
- 4. In "Current Password", correctly enter the current password. Leaving "New Password" blank, click [Next].
