I am a sales engineer in the Smart Grid Engineering Group and my department is responsible in promoting new-age technology in power transmission and distribution, with the emphasis on the engagement of renewable energy resources.
Currently, I’m involved in Environmental-related Demonstration Projects in regions outside Japan and that gave me a wider knowledge of business in other countries. It also gave me the responsibility to help the project go smoothly in order to produce results that might be incredibly useful in creating a more beautiful tomorrow for the world.

Working in a foreign country with a foreign language, my first and foremost task is to build up on my Japanese language skills in order to communicate with my colleagues and to get involved in meetings. Even with the slight handicap in the language as of present, I was still given responsibility for handling certain tasks in projects that I’m involved in and given many opportunities to attend meetings with customers from both overseas and within Japan.
I have a good relationship with my colleagues, bosses, and the work environment proved to be really friendly and excellent for working. Although I must say that it might not be as interactive as I thought, the warmness that can be received from the colleagues, bosses, and especially your own mentor, is exceptionally great.

I enjoy traveling Japan by car and train and to experience Japan the Japanese way together with the native people. I am experiencing Japan’s ancient culture by attending tea ceremony, yukata (summer kimono) wearing sessions, etc.
Japan is indeed a country deep in culture and that explains the fun while exploring the roots!
