The corporate laboratories at the Corporate Research & Development Center also bring a market orientation to their development of common platforms and technologies that can be utilized by the in-house companies, and undertake advanced research from a long-term perspective of five years and more.
Innovations in production know-how are provided by the Corporate Manufacturing Engineering Center. It undertakes R&D in the "manufacturing technology and system engineering" fields that support the Toshiba Group today and pave the way to the future. Advancing the Toshiba group's manufacturing through research and development based on fundamental technologies, conducted from a wide range of approaches.
The Corporate Software Engineering Center was established as an additional Corporate Research & Development Center in 2003, with the prime objective of improving and strengthening the software development capabilities of Toshiba Group as a whole. We are actively involved in developing new software technologies, and we work with in-house companies and other Toshiba Group R&D centers on the development of high quality, high value products.
