Transformer

Introduction

Toshiba pioneered the development of the transformer in Japan, introducing the first commercially successful one in 1894.
To satisfy the ever-increasing electricity demand, transmission voltages and capacity are being continually increased, and Toshiba has met these requirements from the early stage.
In fact, Toshiba broke the existing Japanese high-voltage-capacity record with the development and commercialization of an 800kV transformer. Disassembled and transported transformers which are developed to meet requirements for transportation limitation or environmental conformity and gas-insulated transformers which are compact, environmentally friendly and nonflammable, are just another example of Toshiba's innovation. We are acknowledged one of the world technology leaders.
