Social Contributions Activities Japan[P-R]
Invites students from a junior high school in the neighborhood to experience the dismantling, assembly and demonstration of PCs.
In collaboration with Toshiba Information Equipment, we cleaned the area around the premises. Donations made at a yearly company summer get-together and 10% of party entrance fees were combined for a total donation of 45,300 yen to disater relief. We have donated rechargers and lanterns to The Energy and Resources Institute in India through the non-profit organization, Gaia Initiative. Every year we invite a group of students from Kashiwazaki Technical High School to have a plant tour. This year, we showed them the central control room and transformers in our power plant. They also briefly joined easy processing at Tsurugi equipment center. Profits made by selling caps from PET bottle are used to buy vaccines to help children around the world. A total of 56 kg of PET caps (approximately 22,400 pieces) were collected and donated to the Japan Committee of Vaccines for the World's Children. Appealed for the prevention of littering cigarette butts at JR Kitafuchu station and around Bubaigawara station, at the request of Fuchu City.
Supporting the educational policies of Nanmouri Junior High School in Asugi City, we cooperate with their internship program and provide plant tours every year.
To foster an interest in social contribution among the newly-employed staff, they were assigned to clean the area surrounding the Atsugi factory. To help the restoration in Myanmar after the cyclone in April 2008, members of our Jyudo team have collected their old uniforms which were too small for them, and donated them to the country through the association of International Budo University graduates. In cooperation with Toshiba Hokkaido Branch, conducted volunteer activities such as snow removal for households of elderly people, and assistance at the Sapporo Snow Festival. 1.Financial aid from employees of 3,014,100 yen and the same amount matched by company 2.Facility loan
3.Donation of goods 4.Responding to the request of a local neighborhood association, employees cleaned gutters and repaired damaged walls in the homes of elderly residents. They also erected rooftop tarps. Furthermore, to help prepare for the Obon Festival they helped repair damaged tombstones and stone lanterns. Cooperated in local beautification activity by distributing leaflets on the streets in Atsugi City, and by removing graffiti. The company participated in a bidding event to invite Olympics to Fukuoka City. Collects used postage stamps in cooperation with the Toshiba Solutions Corporation to donate to a local social welfare organization. A total of 14 employees volunteered to clean the Shin Yokohama Station Park and Toriyama River with plastic bags in their hand. |
