Every year we invite a group of students from Kashiwazaki Technical High School to have a plant tour. This year, we showed them the central control room and transformers in our power plant. They also briefly joined easy processing at Tsurugi equipment center.

Profits made by selling caps from PET bottle are used to buy vaccines to help children around the world. A total of 56 kg of PET caps (approximately 22,400 pieces) were collected and donated to the Japan Committee of Vaccines for the World's Children.

To help the restoration in Myanmar after the cyclone in April 2008, members of our Jyudo team have collected their old uniforms which were too small for them, and donated them to the country through the association of International Budo University graduates.

2.Facility loan

Three shower units and a washing machine were made available to local residents of the damaged area beginning July 23. Approximately 40 people used the facilities each day. Ice cream was handed out to the children. Bathing facilities were offered to residents of the Kashiwazaki Nariwa Social Welfare Organization's Kashiwa House. A total of 702 people took advantage of the offer, with some 78 individuals using the washing machines as well.
In response to a request from the city of Kashiwazaki, the company allowed its dormitory and warehouse to be used as makeshift housing, with 3,490 square meters of space made available over a two-year period. Renovation work began August 12, and 20 families moved into the facility August 31.

3.Donation of goods
goodsIn response to a request from a local neighborhood association, the company donated 600 sandbags, 10 boxes of packing tape, 100 headlamps, 110 blue tarps, 20 crowbars, 20 saws and 100 pairs of work gloves.
Supporting local communities through regional restoration work

4.Responding to the request of a local neighborhood association, employees cleaned gutters and repaired damaged walls in the homes of elderly residents. They also erected rooftop tarps. Furthermore, to help prepare for the Obon Festival they helped repair damaged tombstones and stone lanterns.
In 2009, the two-year agreement expired and the housing was demolished by the city.
