Security guards help elementary school children safely cross the street in front of company premises. Four times a month, 200 employees clean up the area around the factory. Collection boxes were placed at each office for six months, which resulted in the collection of 301,000 caps (equivalent of vaccinations for 375 people). They were donated to the non-profit organization, Ecocap Movement, which in turn provides vaccinations to children in developing countries. Approximately 1,300 unused pocketbooks and calendars, part of the gifts we received around New Years, were donated to social welfare organizations and kindergartens through the Social Welfare Council of Yokkaichi City.
Cooperating to the “Kids’ ISO” program promoted by Mie prefecture to encourage awareness of environmental issues among children. In 2007, four employees acquired an instructor license and visited schools to provide easy to understand classes on environmental problems.
The overall conditions and environmental activities of the facility are reported once a year to invited members of the local residents’ association. there was also a tour of the manufacturing building and environmental facility under construction and free discussions. Introduced the cutting-edge technologies and environmental protection activities of the operations to overseas students visiting the Operations. Clean-up day held periodically, especially during Environment Month and the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Promotion Month.
Every year Grade 5 students tour the lagoon and recycling center and carry out scientific experiments. An elementary school has been using fields of the Complex for their PE classes while the school was under construction. Upon completion of a new school building, the Complex held a tree-planting event. A hand-made commemorative panel was presented to the Complex from the students as a token of gratitude. |
