Toshiba Accelerator System Technologies Utilized in SPring-8, the World's Highest Performance Synchrotron Radiation Source
SPring-8, the world's highest performance synchrotron radiation source,
was developed through the joint efforts of the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI) and
the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN).
With its wealth of technical expertise in the field of particle accelerators,
Toshiba made an important contribution to the SPring-8 project in various areas including the total system engineering of the synchrotron,
and the RF systems for the storage ring and linear accelerator (linac).
SPring-8 has been in operation for users since October 3, 1997.
