Since the establishment in 1981, Toshiba Microelectronics
Corporation (TOSMEC) has evolved as a semiconductor engineering
company, assisting Toshiba Corporation as an important partner
in its semiconductor business. Our activities encompass a wide
range of areas from the planning and development of semiconductor
products such as systems-on-chips (SoCs), ASICs and flash memories
to the development of enabling technologies for IP cores, EDA,
mask CAD and chip evaluation.
The 21st century is an age of digital and
information technology (IT) revolutions.
It is dubbed the age of ubiquitous information society where
everyone has access
to information he or she wants at any time
and any place. Our society will change at a pace and on a scale
we've never seen
before. A common view is that the next decade
will experience more profound change than during the previous
century.
In this rapidly-changing environment, the
electronics industry will be spurred on by the market stimulus
provided by digital home appliances such as DVD players/recorders,
digital TV sets, digital cameras and digital camcorders; PCs;
cell phones; and automotive electronics. A key to survival
in these markets is to offer easy-to-use products whose software
and hardware complexities are hidden from users. The most suitable
for the integration of software and hardware are ASICs with
embedded memories and microcontrollers, image processing SoCs
and the like. These devices are our forte and what we are focusing
on in the future.

depends on our ability to provide customers
with system solutions. With the goal of becoming
