Toshiba Corporation (Toshiba), a leading worldwide provider of comprehensive medical solutions, will make its healthcare IT debut at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition (booth 6439) in Chicago, April 12-16, 2015. This is the first year that Toshiba will present its holistic healthcare solutions under the Toshiba corporate umbrella at HIMSS, reflecting the importance of the healthcare industry and reinforcing the company’s position as an innovation leader.

The exhibition will showcase how Toshiba technology provides solutions for virtually every point in the healthcare continuum – from admission to discharge, follow up, home monitoring and ongoing wellness.

“HIMSS, known to be a hub for healthcare IT leaders, is the ideal venue to share how Toshiba can address this group’s biggest concerns, including patient engagement, enterprise integrated architecture and healthcare mobility,” said Satoshi Tsunakawa, President and CEO of the Healthcare Company, Toshiba Corporation. “We look forward to fully understanding the HIMSS attendees’ stories as we believe we are well positioned to help these stakeholders navigate the challenges of optimizing healthcare in today’s changing environments.”

The company’s integrated, customizable solutions on display will help create efficiencies leading to better care and lower costs. These include its portfolio of award-winning medical imaging equipment such as the Aquilion CT family, the Vantage Titan and Elan MR systems, the Aplio 500 Platinum ultrasound system and the Radrex X-ray system, which will be exhibited virtually.

To reinforce its innovation in healthcare IT solutions, the company will demonstrate its latest portfolio of flexible image-management strategies and imaging-centric business intelligence products and services. It will also preview activity monitoring sensors, which draw from Toshiba’s experience in its semiconductor business and offer easy health monitoring for everyone, everywhere.

Healthcare organization operations solutions on display will include thermal barcode printers and multifunction products that enable physicians, nurses and other authorized users to share data and streamline processes across the healthcare enterprise more efficiently and support the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Lastly, to help make patient communication more effective, Toshiba will demonstrate its Ellumina™ digital signage solutions, which facilitate check-in and registration, provide wayfinding directional guidance and educate and engage patients and visitors throughout healthcare facilities.
Toshiba’s message at the HIMSS Conference, “We’re Toshiba. We’re listening.” reinforces the company’s long-standing brand promise of listening to its customers and developing solutions to appropriately address their needs. The company’s holistic healthcare solutions are proof it is paying attention to the needs of physicians and patients and helping healthcare organizations connect with people in a meaningful way.
