If your computer and USB drive meet the above requirements, please download the Installer Manual and the Firmware Update Tool from the link below, read the Installer Manual carefully and execute the Firmware Update Tool. Please backup your data before downloading.

Under a Toshiba test environment computers have recognized data in USB drives by executing the Firmware Update Tool, provided that Toshiba does not warrant that any data stored on your USB drive will remain accessible or uncorrupted.

If your computer and USB drive do not meet the above requirements, please contact the Support Center described below to replace your USB drive with a new USB drive of similar capabilities. The Support Center will inform you how to send your USB drive. Please backup your data before sending your USB drive. Toshiba does not warrant that any data stored on your USB drive will remain accessible or uncorrupted. Please note that Toshiba will not return your USB drive you sent to Toshiba.

What will happen if the firmware update is not executed?
Computers may fail to recognize your USB drive. Please be sure to update the firmware of your USB, even if you have no issue right now.
I am using an OS other than Windows XP/Vista/7. Can I execute the firmware update?
The Firmware Update Tool is not compatible with OS other than those. Please contact the Support Center to replace your USB drive with a new USB drive of similar capabilities.
What will happen to stored data when the firmware update program is executed? Will stored data be lost?
Under a Toshiba test environment, computers have recognized data in USB drives by executing the Firmware Update Tool, provided that Toshiba does not warrant that any data stored on your USB drive will remain accessible or uncorrupted.
I'm using the Security Software bundled in USB drive. What will happen to my data when I execute the firmware update program?
Under a Toshiba test environment using the Security Software, computers have recognized data in USB drives by executing the Firmware Update Tool, provided that Toshiba does not warrant that any data stored on your USB drive will remain accessible or uncorrupted.
I have reformatted the memory using a file system other than FAT32. What will happen when I execute the firmware update program?
File system for the subject Toshiba USB drives at shipment is FAT32. Under a Toshiba test environment using Windows XP/Vista/7, computers have recognized data in the USB drives using NTFS or exFAT file system by executing the Firmware Update Tool, provided that Toshiba does not warrant that any data stored on your USB drive will remain accessible or uncorrupted.
My computer has only USB 3.0 ports. Can I execute the firmware update program?
Please connect via USB 2.0 extension cable or USB 2.0 hub if your computer has only USB 3.0 port.
My computer has failed to recognize my USB drive. Will it recognize the USB drive by executing the firmware update program?
Under a Toshiba test environment, computers have recognized USB drives by executing the Firmware Update Tool, provided that Toshiba does not warrant that any data stored on your USB drive will remain accessible or uncorrupted.
How can I confirm whether the firmware of my USB drive has been updated?
If you execute the Firmware Update Tool and receive "Update Finish" message, the firmware has been updated. If you do not receive "Update Finish" message, please contact the Support Center to replace your USB drive with a new USB drive of similar capabilities.
If my computer recognizes my USB drive right now, has the firmware been updated?
Even if your computer recognizes you USB right now, it may fail to recognize the USB drive. Please backup your data in other storage media and execute the Firmware Update Tool.
Can I execute the firmware update program while application software in my computer is running?
Before executing the Firmware Update Tool, please close all other application software.
I do not have a computer with USB 2.0 port. I do not have USB 2.0 extension cable or USB 2.0 hub, either. What can I do?
Please contact the Support Center to replace your USB drive with a new USB drive of similar capabilities.
A retail shop replaced my USB drive with new one. It is operating normally. Do I need to update the firmware?
If Toshiba Support Center replaced your USB drive with a new one after September 24, 2013, the firmware of such new product has been updated. If not, please update the firmware of your USB.
Does it have any effect on my computer if I continue to use my USB drive without updating its firmware?
It does have no effect on your computer, however, your computer may fail to recognize your USB drive without updating its firmware. Please sure to update the firmware.
